Getting Started as a Network Marketer
Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 08:21PM
In network marketing or MLM, there are many different types of income opportunities that individuals are engaged in. The good thing about network marketing is that you can conduct this type of business from the comfort of your own home. People from all over the world are flocking to MLM because it is an easy way to earn money. Or they want time and financial independence. Or they want to retire soon. Or they want to stay home with their children. The reasons are personal and endless. Me? I want to retire in three to five years. Why? I want to own my life! I've discovered that I love network marketing. Network Marketers are positive, happy, creative, FUN, people, so I've made a lot of friends. I've discovered that my life-long career as a teacher has prepared me to do this. Life is unfolding in such a "right" way.
Find a Business Where You Can Work Part Time While Building It
Getting started with multi level marketing can be done part time while you keep your day job until you are making enough to quit your job. There are many companies to choose from depending on your interest. Some people may be interested in health products such as “Isagenix” and “Vitamark” or greeting cards such as "Send Out Cards." Whatever business you decided to choose, you want to make sure that you have a "5 Pillar Company" so you can build it while working part time, if necessary. I can send you a training audio to help you with the 5 pillars.
Work with a Duplicatable System
Achieving success in network marketing can be done in any one of these businesses. All you need is the right attitude, passion for what you are offering to people, belief in the product, using the product yourself and being motivated. You can follow the blue print of the company and follow the lead of someone else in the company that is doing well. If they're not successful, I'd suggest looking into Mentoring for Free. This is the training program that changed my whole networking career around. No matter what your business is, this duplicatable training will help you succeed.
They say you should choose a company that has been in business for more than a couple years. Others say that you should get in on the ground floor. You will know in your heart if the company is right if you check out everything you can about it first.
Success in 10 Steps
Don’t just target your family and friends to join your business opportunity. (Although, they may be great customers of your product.) And besides looking to people who you do business with or come into contact with on a daily basis, you can make it work another way too. You can get excellent training online to ATTRACT other people interested in network marketing to you. You can read a very interesting ebook by Michael Dlouhy that explains Success in 10 Steps. It will make you laugh and feel relieved at the same time. Sometime people still using the "old" methods lighten up inside after reading this ebook. That's what makes it an awesome read!
You Don't Have to Buy Leads ... In Fact, I don't Recommend It
You may be considering buying leads. This may work for someone who is good at cold calling, but for the most part it is not as effective. Network marketing is a relationship building business where you have to first form a relationship with someone before they will even think of signing up for your network marketing business. Mentoring for Free is all about teaching social marketing to help build relationships. The chapter on colors and personalities is my favorite.
Learn How to Bring Interested People to YOU
Network marketing can get frustrating if you don’t know how to market to your target audience. It is no use telling someone about your product or service who doesn’t need it. That would be like beating on a rock. As I've been saying, Mentoring for Free is a way to attract network marketers to you. It is better than chasing down everyone you know. It brings people who are already interested in network marketing to you.
You have to know your product as well. If someone asks you about the company and the product, you should be able to tell them in one sentence. You must be committed to the product and to what you are doing. It should not only be about money, but about the people who will benefit from what you are offering. The first place to begin is to hook up with someone who will be a good mentor and is interested in seeing your success.
Feel free to hook up with me. I will coach you, mentor you, and support you if you have the desire to be coachable. Call or email me anytime.
