Seeing the Big Picture
Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 02:21PM One of my favorite books is The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. I apply it to my personal development plan by doing something to improve myself every day. I may be reading from a good self-development book, calling positive people, appreciating my life as I go throughout my day, writing articles like this ... It's all gradual self-development. It's a continual growth and change, and it takes daily focus.
Sometime in our life we may get in a position where it's hard to see the forest through the trees. One important daily habit to step back and look at our life's Big Picture, so if we get overwhelmed, we can come out of it quickly because we know where we're headed. What is it you want? Figure out your Why ... your reason for wanting whatever it is you want in life. That way, you'll more likely "see" what's coming your way and handle it before it does get too overwhelming.
When you look at the big picture and see changes you'd like to make, you can start making them gradually. That is much more pleasant than having life force those changes on you, and it can be a lot less stressful to make life changes on our own schedule.
Think and make a plan so that all that really matters is what YOU think about you and your plan. Don't let what others think of you get in the way. Then go to work! Start! Work your plan on a daily basis. It'll become a habit and then a reality. You will shout to the world, "I did it!"
Is there something in your life that you really want to change? When you know what it is, start making a plan and Work Your Plan Every Day. EVERY day!
Before you know it, you will be reaching your dreams and goals, and making new ones. You'll be so proud of yourself.
Make a plan and work that plan. All of us can do this! It's gradual, it's continual, and it's developing new habits.
It's the slight edge ...
To Your Success,
